Do u think true feelings are respected n valued these days?

im in love with a guy.i expressed my feelings to him.he is one of my friend who inturn likes me more.i have felt his care n love for me.But he denies the fact that he s in love with me when i asked him a proper reason for his refusal,he told me that i belonged to diferent caste.IS CASTE N CREED MORE IMPORTANT THAN HUMAN FEELINGS?really not able to digest this.He has rejected my love but there is not a single moment where i have been without thinking about him.Till now i cant accept the fact that my loved one is so narrow minded.Iim a PG student ,at present working out some projects.i try a lot to forget this dissonance but at some corner of my heart this hurt feeling is disturbing me. i truly love him.
