Exactly how painful is the circision recovery process?

I had it done a few years ago as an adult. The only pain I experienced was some discomfort from the stitches and they fell out by the end of the second week. After four weeks everything was back to working condition. I did not use any pain killers not even an aspirin. A few hours after the procedure I felt that I could have gone back to work but since I had requested a few vacation days I just lounged around the house.
