Is my dad unreasonable with money?

I can get 50% off of sungles because my friend works at a sungl place. My MOM asked me what i wanted for christmas so i was thinking maybe I can get sungles. My mom spends a particular amount every year on me for christmas, so she'll spend it some how whether i pick it out or not. So i called her and asked her about the sungles when she was at work. problem is my dad is the only one home with the money. he asked me how much id need. He reamed me because i asked for $125 for sungles.. saying how completely frivolous that is and how you can get sungles for $5. I feel sooo shitty rght now. We aren't poor so why is that when i merely ask my dad for a loan on some money that will eventually get used for christmas anyways, that he can never cough it up.. I feel like he isnt or ever was a normal father.. and actually i feel unloved because when i come to him for money one time, he lets me down.
