What is the cause, and how can eye throbbing be stopped?

I'm having this throb in my eye that's synchronized with my heart beat. Sometimes stronger, or for a maximum of 5 min. lapse, not there, but than comes back. The weird thing is it doesn't hurt. It's just annoying. Can someone please give me some information? And please include your sources. Thanks!
