How did the goals of the Radical Republicans and the goal of the President differ during Reconstruction era?

Radical Republicans like Charles Sumner and Thad. Stevens favored a 14th and 15th amendment granting Freedmen citizenship and voting rights for African American men. Andrew Johnson was against these measures favoring only 13th amendement freeing slaves. Johnson was considered one of the worst presidents and was even impeached by the house of representatives...he was aquited by the senate by 1 vote. As Black Codes and Jim Crow laws began to take root in the South and with the rise of the KKK, Johnson did nothing to prevent the South from reverting back to their old pre-civil war ways. Radical Republicans did all they could to prevent this and fight for African American rights.
